2026 Winter Olympics: Snowboarding Highlights & Stories
The 2026 Winter Olympics are happening in Milan & Cortina, Italy, and snowboarding is one of the most exciting and high-flying sports on the schedule. The snowboarding competitions are being held at Livigno Snow Park in Valtellina from 5-18 February 2026 with 11 medal events across different disciplines like big air, halfpipe, slopestyle, snowboard cross, and parallel giant slalom for men, women and mixed teams.

🥇 Big Air: Men's Final Results (Feb 7, 2026)
The first major snowboarding medal event has already wrapped up - and it was thrilling:

🏆 Gold: Kira Kimura (Japan)
🥈 Silver: Ryoma Kimata (Japan)
🥉 Bronze: Su Yiming (China)

Japan dominated with a one-two finish, and Su Yiming - the defending champion - grabbed the bronze. 

📌 Notable story: 17-year-old American Ollie Martin impressed by finishing 4th in his Olympic debut despite a recent broken arm and surgery. 

Another big air narrative came from Australia's Valentino Guseli, who unexpectedly qualified for the final and pulled off an advanced trick but ultimately finished outside the medals - still a big moment given his recent injury comeback.
